What you will accomplish in this role :
- Develop and execute the test plans required to validate functional diagnostics and failure responses, taking into account established norms and standards;
- Support the various test centers, vehicle production and dealers in the analysis and understanding of the various failure codes;
- Support mechatronics project engineers in the drafting of technical specifications (TRD) with regard to functional diagnostic requirements and reaction in the event of failure of electronic modules;
- Calibrate parameters for functional diagnostics and failure response;
- Solve development, production and network problems and follow up with suppliers;
- Possibly develop control and diagnostic functions for mechatronic modules and implement new processes.
Essential skills sought :
- A degree in mechanical engineering;
- At least 2 years’ experience in product development;
- Strong interest in embedded software programming;
- Understanding and ability to integrate electrical, electronic, software and mechanical principles;
- Understand the transfer of physical phenomena (sensors, analog signals, processing and communication protocols);
- Know how an internal combustion engine works;
- Know how the components of an electric vehicle work;
- Know how diagnostic communication works in automotive modules;
- Knowledge of ISO 14229, ISO 14230 and OBDII, Euro 5 standards;
- Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
- You are mobile and able to travel and work on a regular basis at our customers’ sites across Quebec, depending on your opportunities and your personal life;
- You are bilingual (French / English) – fluency in English is required for our international customers and our Quebec customers with international projects.
