Optimized work space in 3 elements for increased productivity of your employees!

Merkur recently moved its offices in St-Bruno-de-Montarville to expand the work space to accommodate new employees. We created a workspace where employees feel valued and inspired. Here are 3 important elements that we have taken into consideration when creating workspaces.

According to an article published by Northwestern University, employees who are exposed to natural light are more productive because it improves quality and length of sleep. Thus, the quality of work and the level of performance are increased.

In a UK study, workplace personalization and productivity were related. Indeed, the study shows that employees who have the possibility to customize their workspace, for example by adding photos or plants, are on average 32% more productive than those who do not.

A variety of spaces is also an important element to consider. Depending on the type of tasks to accomplish and the working mode, it is essential to have different types of workspaces. Space needs to be adapted to increase productivity and efficiency at work. For example, a group work space, relaxation areas for coffee breaks and lunch, conference rooms for more formal meetings. In each of these spaces, tools adapted to the objectives must be available.

The choice of colors can also have a significant impact on employee productivity. For example, cool colors (blue, green, purple) help for concentration, intellect, well-being, while warm colors (red, orange, yellow) are more favorable to creation, action, concertation.

Green plants in a workspace have a positive impact on employee happiness. In addition, studies have shown that plants improve air quality, reduce stress levels, help to concentrate and improve performance.

With an optimal work environment, you can improve employee productivity and sense of well-being!
