Logistics specialist

You will act as a Logistics Specialist to guide, execute, and ensure the management and deployment of projects related to demand planning, inventory management strategies, transportation, and logistics.

Here are the challenges that await you: 

  • Manage material flows such as goods, products, or raw materials; 
  • Organize the quantities of goods to be produced based on stock levels and customer demands to aim for lean production; 
  • Plan and manage the distribution of manufactured products to clients and handle the organization of transportation, delivery routes, etc.; 
  • Diagnose and propose solutions to optimize stocks, reduce total costs, and improve supply chain logistics procedures; 
  • Optimize purchasing planning and stock control practices; 
  • Support the implementation of purchasing management tools; 
  • Optimize material requirements planning (MRP), inventory strategies, and warehouse operations with the WMS in place; 
  • Diagnose and make recommendations concerning warehouse activities and performance; 
  • Define specifications, prepare tender documents, and evaluate proposals received for logistics (3PL) and transportation services; 
  • Optimize, standardize, and document key processes related to the sector, and participate in training. 

 

You are a Merkurian if: 

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or operations management; 
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment; 
  • You have a good knowledge of ERP, WMS, and TMS systems; 
  • You are bilingual (French, English) – proficiency in English is required for our international clients and our Quebec clients with international projects; 
  • You are mobile and willing to travel to our clients (Estrie, Centre Du Québec). 

 

You stand out with the following skills: 

  • A high sense of priorities and a certain autonomy in work; 
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills; 
  • A good understanding of production and logistics concepts; 
  • A global vision of manufacturing operations.
