Located in 4 offices, with 175 employees serving manufacturing clients across the province, Merkur is a company rich in diversity, which is the source of our success.
Our first article addressed cultural diversity (insert link), which is, of course, the foundation of our richness. This leads us to the second part of this topic, occupational diversity. A multitude of versatile professionals make up our multidisciplinary team. Indeed, our engineers have a variety of degrees and training, and in addition to coming from different cultures, our team includes engineers from all disciplines.
At Merkur, team synergy plays a major role in the company’s success. This sharing of knowledge creates an environment that promotes innovation and the pursuit of solutions, no matter the challenge. Curiosity and the desire to understand everything drive Merkurians daily, and this is how we proudly help the largest companies perform better.
In numbers, how does this diversity unfold?
It’s impressive, you’ll see!
The vast majority of our Merkurians, 41% of them, have a background in mechanical engineering.
8% of Merkurians have studied industrial engineering, and 4% have a background in electrical engineering.
Other engineering disciplines are represented in smaller proportions, around 1 to 2% for: automation engineering, civil engineering, materials engineering, electronic engineering, computer engineering, automated production engineering, and production systems engineering.
Wow! Indeed, 10 engineering disciplines shine within Merkur. It’s also important to highlight that these engineers are supported by other seasoned professionals from a wide range of disciplines. From administration to industrial design, from law to electromechanics. We count among our ranks Merkurians trained in fashion merchandising management, computer science, industrial maintenance, computer systems, and even tourism and marketing communications. It is thanks to this highly diverse range that we manage to make our mark among the leaders, and it is a richness of which we are very proud.
There is room for anyone who aligns with our values, loves challenges, and wants to make a difference in the manufacturing world. – [add call-to-action]
“For me, the advantage of working at Merkur is the diversity: the diversity of projects, the diversity of clients, the diversity of business sectors, and especially the diversity of internal knowledge, which is so enriching. It’s also the opportunity to work on projects that allow me to touch on everything, thanks to internal cohesion and the focus on knowledge sharing.” – Samuel Fréchet, Project Manager / Engineering and Product Development Team Coordinator.
